David Seemungal

David Seemungal has an accounting background having worked as an Auditor with a multinational firm before joining one of their clients. He has worked in the forestry business and successfully ran a logging operation working on contract for a government owned timber company in Trinidad.

After coming to Canada he entered the Financial Services industry. He has gained a broad experience over many years in general strategic planning, being licensed to provide Mutual Funds, and Life, Sickness and Accident Insurance since 1990 and as a Mortgage Agent since 2005. David has been active in Industry affairs and has written articles and reported for one of his professional association journals on industry issues. He is an Elder Planning Counselor, and has published his own client newsletter, Money Trends. With more than eighteen years of experience in the Financial Services industry in Canada, David brings a range of innovative Financial Solutions into play for his clients’ long term Financial Security and provides integrated planning for their insurance, investment and mortgage needs.

David also contributes his time and energy to work in the community. He has served on various boards of community organisations. He is a founder of The Caribbean Education Organization of Canada, which has endowed three awards at the University of Toronto. He, and wife Sharlene, have volunteered at the Fashion Cares Gala which raises over a million dollars a year in support of AIDS research.

He is a member of The Rotary Club of North Scarborough and has served as Director of two of the club's committees. He is currently Foundation Director for his Rotary Club, where he encourages donations to The Rotary Foundation, one of the largest charitable foundations in the world. He has Co-Chaired and served as a mentor and presented for Rotary’s Camp Enterprise, where Grade 10 students from Scarborough schools interact with and learn from professionals about business and the working world.

David has served as a director of Rotary District 7070 Gift Of Life program, which brings Third World children with life threatening heart problems to Toronto's Hospital For Sick Children for care. He is also a member of District 7070 PolioPlus Committee which is working to eliminate Polio from the world. He has received a Paul Harris Fellowship for his work in the Community and with Rotary.

He enjoys reading, films and music; is an incurable Trekkie, and enjoys sampling Toronto’s many restaurants.
